Bicycle Recycling

Bicycle recycling returns to the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day Lake Michigan College 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. For more information, see Berrien County recycling events.


MAY IS NATIONAL BIKE MONTH

National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try. Source: League of American Bicyclists


Accomplishments

During 2022

o 140 repaired or new bicycles sold, or donated for educational purposes
o Bicycle sales were $14,600
o Four educational or awareness programs were held reaching 215 people
o Seven new volunteers were recruited.
o Grants and fundraisers brought in $26,300, a 250% increase over 2021
o An estimated 300 used and new bicycles were received o About 500 lbs. of scrap metal was recycled
